I am an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of consciousness, embodiment, and lived experience, currently focusing on intersex/innate variations of sex characteristics (IVSC) and migration. I am a PhD candidate in East–West Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), School of Consciousness and Transformation, where I bring phenomenological and enactive (4E/4EA) approaches into dialogue with qualitative and micro-phenomenological research methods.
Before beginning my doctoral work, I founded the Association of Russian-Speaking Intersex People (ARSI) in 2013 — Russia's first intersex advocacy organization. I immigrated to the United States in 2014 and was granted asylum in 2017. I hold an MS in Nonprofit Management from The New School and a BS in Sociology from Kemerovo State University, and have taught research methods in both Russian and U.S. academic settings.
